ParentPayr was born out of frustration — the kind only a spreadsheet, a payment app, and a contentious text thread can create.
As a co-parent, I found myself doing everything “right”—itemizing shared expenses, building elaborate formulas in Google Sheets, even sharing the numbers with complete transparency. But no matter how carefully I explained the monthly child support breakdown, I was met with suspicion. The tone was always the same: “Somehow I’m getting screwed here.”
I knew I couldn’t be the only one dealing with this. I didn’t want to spend the next 18 years explaining line items and replaying court orders over text. So I stopped looking for the perfect spreadsheet — and built something better instead.
Who I Am ...
I'm David Ross — father, founder, and fintech veteran. I’ve spent more than two decades designing and deploying software that simplifies complex systems, automates workflows, and brings clarity to messy problems. I’ve built custom integrations, Chrome extensions, reporting dashboards, and tools that just work.
But ParentPayr isn’t just another app I built — it’s the one I needed most. And it was inspired by the most important role I’ve ever had: being a dad.
(Also, fun fact — I was voted “Father of the Year” in 2024 by the only voter that mattered: my awesome toddler.) ☺️
